Flood and Speechley share win

CLICK HERE TO VIEW FULL RESULTS AIS/Golf Australia National Squad member Rebecca Flood shared the NSW Women&aposs Stroke Play title with WA&aposs Jessica Speechley after the pair finished at 4-under par at New Brighton Golf Club. In appalling weather for the morning&aposs third round, Speechley fired a 3-under par 70- the best round of the morning. Speechley&aposs round, combined with Flood&aposs 1-over par 74 brought things ever closer. In the final round, Flood posted a 2-over par 75 and Speechley a 4-over par 77 to be tied at 4-under par 288. With no play-off to follow, the pair were crowned joint champions. AIS/Golf Australia squad members Stacey Keating and Whitney Hillier finished third at 3-over par for the championship and seven strokes behind the winners. Rebecca Blain and Bree Arthur finished in a tie for sixth and a shot behind Keating and Hillier. Srixon Australian Amateur champion Justine Lee finished in outright 8th and a shot behind Arthur and Blain. The NSW Women&aposs Amateur Championship begins at Macquarie Links tomorrow.
