Following the cancellation of the Queensland Boys&apos and Girls&apos Junior Amateurs at Indooroopilly Golf Club on Tuesday, the 2011 Advanced Junior Clinic was also cancelled. Golf Queensland staff immediately began contacting parents and guardians of the 42 children attending the clinic in an attempt to reunite all before the Union College Campus (also located in the suburb of Indooroopilly) was isolated due to rising flood waters. Although there was no threat of flooding to the College lodgings from the rising Brisbane River, early this morning Golf Queensland staff were informed that they would need to evacuate the premises prior to 8:00am if they did not want to be isolated at the College due to surrounding roads being flooded. Golf Queensland is pleased to announce that all 42 children and staff have left the Union College to be reunited with friends and family, with a remaining few now just waiting for flights to Townsville and Mackay at the Brisbane Airport. Golf Queensland wish to thank all of our staff, the staff at Union College and all of the Children and Parents involved with the Advanced Junior Clinic for the hard work and cooperation over the past couple of days.
