Day two of the 2019 Victorian Four-Ball State Final has been completed and the champions have been crowned at Moonah Links.

The field of 200 qualifiers took on the challenging Open Course on the final day of the event which started in early January.

After a long and testing day for both fields, the best pairs rose to the top.

The women’s title was claimed by Jane Zhang (Rosanna) and Ali Ai (Capital) who moved from third place overnight to win.

The pair fired a remarkable 26 points through their final nine holes to move three points clear of second.

Mansfield duo Jenny Foster and Louise Calvert-Jones carded consistent rounds of 40 and 38 to claim second place.

Four points further back were Megan Carr (Mooroopna) and Bobette Wilkinson (Tocumwal) who claimed third spot on a countback from overnight leaders Bev and Jan Smith (Hepburn Springs).

In the mixed section, it was the father-daughter combination and overnight leaders in Brent and Izabella McIntyre (Horsham) who secured victory with impressive rounds of 46 and 44 points.

Falling just short but finishing strongly with a final round of 46 points were Leszek and Lidia Kunc (Keysborough) who nudged out Pakenham’s Tina Cowie and John Hoare on a countback for second place.

The men’s title was snatched up for the second year running by Northern’s father-son duo in Dean and Blake Anderson.

The Andersons bettered their effort of 46 points yesterday with 47 today, storming home with 27 points through their final nine holes to ultimately win on a countback.

The unlucky runners-up were Guy Wilson-Browne (RACV Cape Schank) and David Snell (Leongatha).

Golf Australia would like to thank Bushnell Golf for their ongoing support throughout the 2019 Vic Four-Ball season. Details regarding entries for the 2020 competition will be released later this year.
