Fraser in touch in Malaysia

Marcus Fraser has finished the second day of the Malaysian Open three shots adrift of the lead after a lightning storm brought a premature end to the day&aposs play. Fraser had another five holes to play before the bad weather rolled in and he is currently one under in the second round after recording three birdies and two bogeys in the first 13 holes to be minus nine overall. However, local favourite Danny Chia and Englishman Nick Dougherty managed to get full rounds in and both lead the pack heading into the third day with scores of 12 under. Chia reeled off six birdies for the round and almost completed a faultless day before recording a bogey on the 18th hole to finish the second round with a score of 67. The Malaysian&aposs fellow leader Dougherty hit a two-under par 70 on the back of his scorching 10-under effort on the first day. The Englishman hit birdies on the 1st, 5th, 7th and 18th holes but conceded bogeys on the 2nd and 16th. Dane Soren Kjeldsen was another who was lucky enough to complete 18 holes and he sits one shot a drift of Chia and Dougherty on 11 under after he registered a four-under par round of 68. Indian Jyoti Randhawa is level with Kjeldsen in third position with a progress second round score of six-under par with two holes still to play. Other Australians who are in touch with the leaders are Scott Barr (eight under) who shot his second consecutive round of 68 and Scott Strange (seven under) who backed an impressive first round of six under with a one-under par 71.
