Australian Marcus Fraser has qualified for this month&aposs US Open but compatriots Peter O&aposMalley, Richard Green and Matthew Millar were unsuccessful. Fraser, one of nine players to progress through sectional qualifying in England, shot rounds of 66 and 71 at the Walton Heath course in Surrey. He finished one shot behind Englishman Nick Dougherty, South African Darren Fichardt and Swede Peter Hanson, who all finished on 136. Others to qualify were Graeme McDowell, Argentine Miguel Rodriguez, Englishman Sam Walker, Dane Soren Kjeldsen and Frenchman Christian Cevaer. There are 18 Australasians battling for a berth in the US Open in sectional qualifiers across 13 sites in the US. They include John Senden, Peter Lonard, Stephen Leaney, Steve Elkington and Nathan Green.
