Frost wins wire to wire at Cobram

The final round of the 2015 Cobram Barooga Senior Amateur was played in ideal conditions, a complete contrast to the conditions of round two.

After assuming the 36 hole lead by two strokes, Ian Frost (Bendigo) was able to hold off Michael Jackson (Yarra Yarra) and Greg O’Brien (Howlong) extending his overnight lead to a winning margin of four shots with a three round total score of 225.

A strong opening round of 72 set the tone for Frosts’ win, as he further cemented his position a top the current Doug Bachli points standings with another fine performance.

Local Cobram Barooga member Colin Rankin utilised his local knowledge to take this year’s nett event playing off a handicap of 13 with a three round nett total of 213.

Russell Williams (Leongatha) finished in second place with a three round nett score of 214 playing from a handicap of 8 with David Shiells (Shepparton) rounding out the top three places in third with a nett score of 218.
