Jim Furyk shot a one-under-par 71 to open up a two-stroke lead after the second round of the Chevron World Challenge. The first-round leader, Furyk moved to five-under-par 139 and is two shots in front of KJ Choi, Anthony Kim and Camilo Villegas. Fred Couples and Steve Stricker are three strokes back on two-under. Furyk was bogey-free until the 18th when he failed to make a 10-foot par putt after finding the greenside bunker on his approach to the par four last. Until the miscue on the final hole Furyk was error free, making birdies on the ninth and 16th holes. The 16th hole was his first birdie on a par five in 10 chances. Choi was at five-under early in his round but made two bogeys and a double-bogey on the front nine. He rallied on the back nine with a 33. Villegas had the low round of the day, shooting a 67 to go from two-over to three-under. The season-ending tournament, which is hosted by Tiger Woods and benefits his foundation, features a 16-player field.
