On a day where winds gusted up to 40mph, Canada&aposs Angela Buzminski struggled to a 5-over par 77 but managed to secure a one-shot victory in the inaugural US$110,000 Historic Brownsville Open. Thailand&aposs Nontaya Srisawang recorded her best finish with a superb final round 73 to finish in outright second.

rnBuzminski started the final round three shots ahead of her nearest rivals. After a 4-over par 40 around the front nine she steadied with birdies at the 12th and 15th holes. However, a tee shot out-of-bounds on the par-3 16th lead to a double-bogey and reduced her lead to just one. She again steadied to make pars on the final two holes to complete her fifth FUTURES Tour victory. Afterwards the left hander said, “A win is a win and it’s been so long since my last one.” She dedicated the victory to her good friend Heather Wilbur who was a FUTURES Tour player before dying of Leukaemia aged 27.

rnRachel Bailey was the only ALPG Member to make the cut, finishing in a tie for 22nd at 9-over par total 222.
