Angela Oh, from Maple Shade in New Jersey has taken out the first tournament of the season on the Duramed FUTURES Tour, with a playoff victory over California’s Jane Rah. The final round of the tournament was called off due to heavy rains making some greens unplayable. The leaders had played ten holes, and organisers determined that the round 2 results would stand. Oh and Rah had entered the final day in a tie and a playoff was ordered.

rnIn a bitter twist for Rah, she would go on to lose the playoff, however, when play was called off she was in a tie for the lead and four shots ahead of Oh. Much to Oh’s delight, her ten holes were scrapped and she picked up the winner’s cheque of US$14,000. Before this week, her best finish was a tie for 8th in the Turkey Hill Classic in 2009.

rnAustralia&aposs Kristie Smith had reached 6th place on the final day before play was called, moving to 3-under par. However, her tie for 10th after the opening two rounds will be recorded on her results list. Leanne Bowditch also made the cut finishing in a tie for 50th.
