rnLike the LPGA event, this FUTURES tournament was hampered by inclement weather, which forced the second round to be delayed. Song took full advantage, firing 7 birdies in her second round of 7-under 64, split over two days. This allowed her to walk to the first tee on the final day with a comfortable 4-shot cushion which she wouldn’t let go of. Her final round consisted of a bogey at the 3rd hole, followed by birdies at holes 4, 7, 8 and 13. Afterwards, commenting on her second round and ambitions moving forward, she said, “I was really glad I was able to go low this morning to put me in a position to win. I want to win three in a row. I want to win next week.”

rnRachel Bailey was the best of the Australians, finishing in a tie for 28th at even par, while Leanne Bowditch finished a shot further back in a tie for 36th. The Duramed FUTURES Tour moves to it’s only ‘Major’ of the season next week with the US$125,000 Tate & Lyle Players Championship in Illinois.
