FUTURES Tour – SERRAMIA STUNNED BY FIRST FUTURES TITLE

Spain&aposs Elisa Serramia claimed her first FUTURES Tour victory on Sunday in the $100,000 Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City Championship. Serramia won by one shot at 5-over par total 218 after posting a final-round score of 1-under par 70. In second place were the American duo of Jean Reynolds and Selanee Henderson and Korea’s Yoora Kim.

rnSerramia ended her day still tied with Henderson (77) of Apple Valley, California, and Reynolds (75) of Newnan, Georgia, who were still out on the course. Facing a possible three-way playoff, Serramia putted on the practice green, however Henderson and Reynolds both made bogey on the 18th hole, handing Serramia her first victory.

rnAfterwards, a slightly shocked Serramia said, "I was just getting ready, mentally preparing myself for a playoff." Winner of the 2005 Ladies European Tour Rookie of the Year, Serramia added, "I made birdie on 18, so I knew they could, as well. I just didn&apost think about it. I didn&apost want to watch."

rnWith the win, Serramia moves to the No. 4 position in the Duramed FUTURES Tour money list. Reynolds returns to the top spot while Misun Cho of Cheongju, South Korea, slips down one spot to No. 2, and Angela Buzminski of Oshawa, Ontario, moves to third.

rnRachel Bailey was the only ALPG Member to make the cut finishing in a tie for 50th at 16-over par.
