Golf Australia, is the National Sporting Organisation overseeing golf in Australia. Our primary objective is to increase participation in golf across Australia from grass roots to the elite level. Key responsibilities incorporate managing a full calendar of national championships and the Australian Opens as well as Rules and Handicapping for more than 400,000 club golfers.
Golf Australia is currently seeking to recruit a Commercial & Sales Director.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will increase commercial revenue through the sale of program, tournament and industry partnerships and by identifying further commercial opportunities for the organisation.
In this exciting Commercial Sports role you will be responsible for:
• Developing new saleable assets and identifying saleable properties within existing Golf Australia programs, events and tournaments.
• Identifying prospective sponsorship partners, developing business opportunities, building commercial relationships and presenting Golf Australia proposals.
• Coordinating the strategic review of existing sponsorship agreements and new opportunities in the market consistent with Golf Australia‘s business plan.
• Generating periodical commercial reports to the company’s Board of Directors.
• Partnering with the company’s Digital Director to develop strategies to exploit new media opportunities.
To be the successful candidate you must have proven skills and knowledge in:
• Driving and increasing commercial revenues.
• A background in developing commercial relationships, and an excellent working business network.
• The skills to establish new sources of revenue and the ability to develop new business.
• Successfully managing, driving and achieving sales budgets.
• Coordinating and successfully achieving the implementation of commercial business plans.
Tertiary qualifications in commerce, communications or marketing in sport, recreation or leisure will be looked upon favourably. This role will suit the candidate with 7-10 years of commercial excellence.
