Gale grabs win as Castle Hill down St. Michael’s

Daniel Gale grabbed a big scalp with a 3 and 2 victory over St. Michael's Travis Smyth in an impressive 4 matches to 3 win by Castle Hill at St. Michael's during round three of the Srixon Men's Metropolitan Major Pennant. In the other pool group match, North Ryde and Long Reef played out a 3.5 match all draw.

Castle Hill remain undefeated in the pool and with a 13-8 win/loss record and looks like a strong chance to progress to the semi- finals at this stage.

In Pool 2 Bonnie Doon continued their march to the semi finals with a 4 1/2 to 2 1/2 win at home against Bankstown. The evergreen Gregory Bell impressed with a commanding 8 and 7 win against Nathan Hill. Meanwhile in the other half of the pool, NSW Golf Club had it easy with a 6 matches to 1 over Liverpool.

Bonnie Doon's impressive 16-5 record has them nicely placed to progress to the semi finals.

In a tight section three,  Moore Park remained in the race for a semi final spot with a 5 1/2 matches to 1 1/2 win over Pymble at MoorePark. Danny Nesbitt for Moore Park was the stand-out with a 9 and 7 win.

The Australian Golf Club had a comfortable win over Cabramatta 5 matches to 2. The win/ loss record could well decide the winner of the group, with The Australian sitting just in front of  Moore Park on 14 wins to Moore Park's 10.5.

Mona Vale had a 4 matches to 3 win against Avondale at home, with Mark Mc Innes' 1 up win the difference in a tight affair.

Concord Golf Club kept their unbeaten record in tact with a 4 matches to three win over Ryde – Parramatta. The win keeps them at the top of the group with 2.5 points.
