Overcast and soggy conditions proved beneficial for Daniel Gale as he mustered a five-shot lead heading into the final round of the Keperra Bowl tomorrow.
Gale continued his fine form to produce a five-under 67 after rounds of 66-69, leaving the pack chasing. The Castle Hill Golf Club member tuned with four birdies on the outward nine before coming home with two birdies and one bogey for the lead.
A win for the 21-year-old would secure his spot in the Isuzu Queensland Open from 26-29 October and bypass Monday pre-qualifying.
Royal Adelaide’s Billy Cawthorne is hot on his tail carding a blemish free 66, to sit 9-under after 54-holes.
Defending champion Charlie Dann and RQ member Jackson Dick sit within striking range a further shot back.
Scores are set to sizzle tomorrow as players attempt to add their name to the Keperra Bowl alongside the names of Marc Lieshman, Andrew Dodt and Daniel Nisbet.
