Game on at the Warragul Senior Amateur

Round 1 of the Warragul Senior Amateur commenced today in warm but windy conditions. Greens were rolling fast but true, and the undulating layout proved to be a challenge for the field.

Leading the women’s stableford section is local member Glenda Kelly with an impressive 37 points. The 19 marker is 7 points ahead of fellow Warragul member Denyse Greening on 30 points. Kelly and Greening are also leading the women’s Scratch stableford section on 18 and 12 scratch points respectively.

In the men’s section, Ross Percy finished with the round best of 4 over par 75. The Cobram-Barooga member is 3 shots ahead of Huntingdale’s Mick Streit on 78. The pair were the only 2 players to return scores in the 70s. Coming in with a solid nett score of 70 was local John Bundle off a handicap of 13. Bundle is leading by 2 strokes from fellow member Patrick Johnson, with a trio of players on nett 73 close of their tails.

Tomorrow’s round begins via a multi-tee start at 9:30am.
