Spaniard Sergio Garcia shot a hole-in-one during his second round to share the lead with Justin Rose at the halfway stage of the Thailand Golf Championship on Friday, while Australia&aposs Andrew Dodt fired himself into contention.
Garcia enjoyed a memorable day at the Amata Spring Country Club, acing the par-three eighth hole to card a round of 65.
The triple Asian Tour winner, who produced a faultless round that included five birdies, is joined by world number four and Ryder Cup team-mate Rose at 11 under overall.
Rose could not match his opening-round effort but still posted an impressive 68 to share the lead at the Asian Tour tournament.
The pair are two strokes clear of overnight leader Alex Cejka (71), Anirban Lahiri (64) and Alexander Levy (65).
American Rickie Fowler remains in the hunt for his first title since last year after shooting a six-under-par 66 to end the day at eight under.
Dodt, winner of the 2010 Avantha Masters, was one of the day's biggest movers.
The 27-year-old fired a round of 65, which included seven birdies, to be four shots off the pace.
In-form Swede Henrik Stenson (67), Kiradech Aphibarnrat (68) and Sujjan Singh (69) are also seven under heading into Saturday's third round.
Meanwhile, Australian Scott Barr shot a 67 to be four under with two rounds remaining.
Compatriot Wade Ormsby (70) is a further stroke back, Marcus Fraser (73) is two under overall, while Ryan McCarthy (69) and Adam Groom (67) are both one-under par.
