Australian Scott Gardiner carded a one-under-par 71 in the final round to finish outright fourth behind Roland Thatcher in the Peek&aposn Peak Classic on the Nationwide Tour. Gardiner could not make any inroads into the five-shot overnight advantage held by Thatcher heading into the final round and finished the tournament on eight-under. In fact, Thatcher only skipped further away on Sunday, thanks to a four-under-par 68 which saw him finish the tournament on 15-under, three shots clear of American compatriot Paul Claxton. Promising youngster Jason Day was the next best Australasian, carding an even-par 72 to tie for 15th on four-under, while New Zealander Tim Wilkinson (72) was a shot further back in 19th position. Fellow Kiwi Phil Tataurangi was 23rd on two-under, Australian Kim Felton finished the tournament on even par in a tie for 41st, and Aron Price&aposs horror weekend continued, following his third round of 74 with an 80 on the final day.
