Gardiner gets going

Australian Scott Gardiner has produced a cracking final round to finish in a tie for eighth at the Oregon Classic on the Nationwide Tour. Gardiner closed with a final-round five-under 67 to finish at 12-under overall, seven strokes behind winner Matt Bettencourt. Bettencourt&aposs rounds of 65, 70, 65 and 69 were enough for a two-stroke victory over fellow American Bubba Dickerson. Spencer Levin finished a further stroke back in third, while Kiwi Bradley Iles was another shot back in a tie for fourth. It was a strong performance for the Aussie contingent with Won Joon Lee and Jarrod Lyle both finishing one stroke behind Gardiner in a tie for 14th. David McKenzie finished at seven-under in a tie for 33rd, with Paul Gow a further stroke behind. Aron Price (49th) and Michael Sim (52nd) also had good weekends while there was disappointment for Wade Ormsby, Greg Chalmers, Marc Leishman, Ewan Porter, Steven Bowditch, Kim Felton and Andrew Bonhomme who all missed the cut.
