Trevor Immelman claimed the Hotel Fitness Championship with his last shot of the day in the Web.com Tour Finals opener on Sunday. The South African birdied the final hole to give him a six-under 66 and a one stroke victory over Patrick Cantlay, who began the day three shots clear. Australian Scott Gardiner held onto a tie for third after finishing the final round with a four-under 68. Gardiner shot six birdies for the day, letting himself down only twice with bogeys on holes six and 10. Fellow Australians Adam Crawford and Alistair Presnell finished the tournament tied 11th at 15 under, shooting seven under and three under respectively. Immelman takes home US$180,000 for his efforts and guarantees himself a PGA Tour card for next season.
