William Gerrard has taken out the 2019 Victoria GC Senior Amateur after a terrific score of 74.
In brutal weather, Gerrard was consistent throughout his round to be victorious by just one shot.
Gerrard, who plays off a daily handicap of 8, was consistent throughout his round with two late bogeys costing him an even par round.
Finishing in outright second was Michael Doutch on 75.
In the men’s net, Marcus Padley had a fantastic score of 70 in the trying conditions.
This was enough to win the event by two shots over Jun Zhang.
The highlight of the day came from Andrew Pritchard-Davies who had a magnificent hole-in-one on the 166m par 3 16th.
In the women’s scratch stableford section, Marianne Stoettrup was a runaway winner after a great score of 21 scratch points.
The women’s stableford section Colleen Warfield produced the best score of the day with 33 points to take home the title.
The seniors will continue to Metropolitan on Monday for the Metropolitan plate before rounding out the August sandbelt events at Royal Melbourne on the 26th of August.
