It was a race to the finish line today at Bright for the second and final round of the 2014 Alpine Senior Masters. Thunderstorms were forecasted for the afternoon, but players were lucky to enjoy another calm morning ideal for low scoring.
Neil Collier (Royal Melbourne) shot a solid nett 68 today to win the handicap title on a count-back from Yarram’s Ignatius Duivenvoorden. Both players tied on 141 total, with Collier’s nett 68 today beating Duivenvoorden’s nett 74.
Special thanks are to be extended to the Bright Country Golf Club for their superb hospitality, in particular captain Peter McGrath, Peter Lukey, course superintendent Cameron Wickes, and all the volunteers for their assistance.
The next event on the Senior Calendar is down at Flinders and Portsea Golf Clubs for the Mornington Peninsula Senior Amateur on Monday 24 –Tuesday 25 March.
