Matthew Giles shot an even-par opening round at the US Junior Amateur at Boone Valley Country Club, Montana. The sole Australian in the field, Giles played in one of the final groups and experienced some of the day&aposs toughest conditions. His round of 71 leaves him tied for seventh, five behind leader James White who signed off with four consecutive birdies.
