Golf Australia releases new strategic plan

Golf Australia has released its strategic plan for 2018-2021, which further sharpens the organisation’s focus on growing the game.

The release of the plan follows an extensive consultation process, including formal engagement with state and territory golf associations and industry stakeholders that commenced at a strategic planning forum held towards the end of 2017.

Golf Australia chief executive Stephen Pitt was buoyed by the strong alignment of the identified strategic priorities and opportunities that the game has to enable it to reach its potential and thrive into the future.

“The plan reaffirms the purpose of Golf Australia – to inspire more people to play more golf – and crystallises our vision for golf to be widely recognised as a game for life, where participation contributes to a healthy Australian community.”

The plan sets out six strategic priorities:

  1. Leadership and governance: Establishing a unified governance structure for the sport
  2. Clubs and facilities health:Improving the capability and sustainability of clubs and facilities around the country
  3. Participation:Making the game easier to access, learn and play for all Australians
  4. Women and girls:Leading the transformation of the sport for women and girls
  5. Customer engagement:Engaging and connecting with all golfers and potential golfers
  6. Showcase our game:Showcase and promoting all levels of the sport.
