Golf for Girls holiday clinic a success

Lakeside Ladies ran another very successful Golf for Girls Holiday Clinic. Eleven girls from previous clinics returned for the Step 4 Event and 3 Beginner girls. The clinic was held over two and a half days for girls between 8-14 years old. Although previous school holiday clinics have exceeded 30 girls, the Lakeside Ladies were extremely pleased with numbers for the January school holidays. The girls were taught skills for golf on the driving range and putting green and then enjoyed playing a few holes each day. Lakeside Ladies Director of Golf Sam Wigan stated, “It is amazing to see that such young girls are already keen carrying their own set of junior clubs. Thanks to our Members who like to make the events special for the girls by raising money through raffles and having available lots of great gifts and prizes for each girl. The girls had a great time and the improvement in two days was very noticeable.” The Lakeside Ladies now have a core group of keen girls to work with and are keen to keep the momentum going to develop them into golfers of the future. At the closing of the event Wigan commented, “Importantly they can have fun together and this will keep them playing!
