The small town of St James in Northern Victoria has a humble population of just 363 people.
One of them is Mark Pond – a proud member of St James Golf Club, where they putt on sand greens. To celebrate Golf Month this October, we paid Mark a visit to find out what drives his passion for the sport.
In his words, golf is “a visceral part of the village’s existence” and he enjoys the mateship that stems from a round of golf.
“I have to say I’m tremendously proud of the St James Golf Club. It’s a club that’s hit way above its weight for a long time,” said Mark.
“I love the camaraderie and the fact is, perhaps unlike other sports, no polygraph test reveals the strength of human character more than a round of golf.”
You’ve heard what drives Mark, now it’s your turn.
We want to know what drives your passion for the sport, so we’re giving away a Cobra King F6 every week in October to persuade you to share your story!
