Golf NSW Boys tie for interstate title

Golf NSW Boys’ Team have claimed a remarkable 3½ to 1½ win over Western Australia in the final round of the Golf Australia Junior Interstate Series to finish as joint winners of the title with South Australia in a thrilling final round of action at Ulverstone Golf Club today.

The unlikely result was set up when Victoria pulled off a remarkable win against the leaders Queensland in the morning, which meant that the 2016 title was heading to either Sydney or Adelaide, and after the dust settled, it’s now going to reside in both cities.

Once again it was Joshua Gadd who got the NSW Team off to a great start, with a handy 2&1 victory against his Western Australian opponent Connor Fewkes. Gadd’s form throughout the series has seen him take the win every time he teed it up, a remarkable effort for his first Interstate Series.

Corey Jones and Jay Mackenzie picked up the other wins for NSW, Jones with a solid 7&6 win, while Mackenzie proved what a talent he is with a 2 up win in the number one position.
