
The Golf NSW High Performance Program (HPP) identifies talented male and female golfers across the state and develop them into athletes who are capable of winning major championships, breaking into the top 50 professional world rankings and who can win Olympic Gold Medals.
Golf NSW provides squad members with access to high quality coaching, training facilities and technology, sport science and medical professionals, interstate travel, and in-competition support.
Education
Golf NSW believes in the importance of education in a player's development. It is a requirement of the national program that all HP program participants have completed, or be in the process of completing secondary school.
Golf NSW High Performance Program Selection
Players are selected for all Golf NSW HP program levels based on their commitment to reaching their full potential on and off the golf course combined with their ability to succeed at national amateur, international amateur and professional level.
Selection Criteria
The criteria outlined below is used as a guide to select candidates for inclusion in the HPP. Although these are a general in nature, they are set out by Golf NSW in consultation with Golf Australia. The final decision on selection of successful candidates rests with the Golf NSW High Performance Committee and in consultation with HPP support. staff.
The athlete’s current national ranking is applied at the time of application. Playing results and participation criteria are valid for 12 months from the time they are achieved.
General Criteria (GC)
Australian Citizen.
Players are selected for all Golf NSW HP programs levels based on their dedication to the process of reaching their full potential on the golf course and their ability to have success at national and international amateur and professional level.
Participants must have or be in the process of completing secondary school.
Minimum standards must be maintained in order to hold a position in all Golf NSW HPP.
The Jack Newton Junior Golf State Talent Development Program
