Golf NSW Seeks IT & Communications Manager

An excellent role exists for a remarkable IT & Communications Manager to join the Golf NSW administration team. Golf NSW is the governing body for amateur golf in NSW and as Manager – IT & Communications you will be responsible for the management of all IT related matters and to lead the professional and reliable delivery of Golf NSW communication programs and publications including three websites. Reporting directly to the General Manager – Commercial, you will also work closely with the CEO and the management team at Golf NSW to refine and enhance the organisation s technical resources and communications capabilities to all internal and external stakeholders. As the Manager- IT & Communications your key responsibilities are;

  • Manage and monitor adherence to the Golf NSW Strategic and Business Plans insofar as IT & Communications is concerned;
  • In conjunction with GMC, manage all communication programs and activities including those associated with the NSW Open/s;
  • Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, and peripherals;
  • Administer asset management for all IT hardware, software, and equipment;
  • Manage all IT risks, policies and procedures;
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives;
  • Supervise direct report and in conjunction with GMC, maintain departmental staff performance protocols and appraisals;
  • Develop, maintain and foster a close working partnership with all stakeholders; and
  • Manage all Golf NSW publications and communications.
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will require the following qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience:
  • Formal qualifications in computer science and/or related field will be well regarded;
  • A keen interest and experience in the field of communications with editorial experience;
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and a willingness to work as part of a small team;
  • Thorough working knowledge of network and PC operating systems and infrastructure;
  • Extensive application support experience;
  • Ability to conduct research into IT issues and products as required;
  • Highly self-motivated together with the ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks;
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving capabilities; and
  • Keen attention to detail and a valued work ethic and high energy levels.
