Golf Promo @ McLaren Vale Harvest Festival

Willunga Golf Club took the opportunity to promote their club at the fourth annual McLaren Vale Harvest Festival on Saturday 17th January 2015 at the McLaren Vale Oval.

With diverse food, wine, music and arts from the Fleurieu region on show, Willunga Golf Club established an interactive putting zone as part of a program dedicated to children’s entertainment and activities.

The Willunga Golf Club used one of the Golf SA putting mats for the event and marquee to establish a presence and promoted their MyGolf Junior Program and chatted with prospective members.

In the few days following the promotion, as a direct result, a husband a wife joined as new members and the club fielded a number of new enquiries. Two juniors also registered for their upcoming Term 1 MyGolf program.

“We were more than happy with the promotion. It was very busy with children putting all day, basically from 11am – 8pm with parents watching on.” said Helen Schulz, who is the Junior Coordinator of both the Willunga Golf Club and Southern Golf District.

“There was lots of wine and food for the adults with cooking demonstrations and main stage performances and it was very family orientated with plenty of kids activities”.

“We are very keen to be involved again next year and with other festivals in the McLaren Vale area to try and promote the clubs in the southern area to a wider audience”.

Along with Helen, Barry Green and Norm Slater from the District, Willunga Ladies Captain Anne McDonald and Men’s Vice Captain Rob Zinnoegger assisted on the day.

Willunga juniors, Ben Layton, Lachlan Barker, Cameron and Aaron Bickley were also there to lend a hand.
