Seven candidates have nominated to stand for the Board of Golf SA at its upcoming Annual General Meeting. The candidates will be vying for three positions with at least one candidate required to be a female.
Two positions have arisen due to retirement by current Board members Jenny Butcher and Neil Brown. The third position is due to the ‘casual vacancy’ provisions of the Constitution. Tony Timmins currently fills this position and is seeking re-election.
The remaining candidates are:
Ian Brooksbank (North Adelaide)
Josie Hodge (Glenelg)
Steve Humble (Westward Ho)
Adrian Johnston (The Grange)
Anne Marks (Glenelg)
Paul Reader (Royal Adelaide).
Golf SA is seeking to adopt a new Constitution in early 2015 that has provision for a Board of seven Elected Members and up to two additional Appointed Members. It also provides for a minimum of 40% of either gender on the Board in accordance to Australian Sports Commission and State Government guidelines.
The Annual General Meeting is being held at the Golf SA headquarters at North Adelaide Golf Course at 11.00am on Sunday 19th October 2014.
