Playing every golf hole in Tasmania to raise money for beyondblue is the challenge that lies ahead of golfers, Luke Atkin, Andrew Main, Bernie Klasen and Jason Love.
The group won’t be doing it alone though as the state’s governing body for the sport is urging local members and clubs to dig deep and support Carts FORE a Cause this month.
The Chair of Golf Tasmania, Tony Bush, visited the quartet at Mowbray Golf Club after their round on Sunday and presented the group with a cheque.
“Golf Tasmania was happy to be able to support Carts FORE a Cause,” said Bush.
“Our decision was based on the fact that Carts FORE a Cause highlighted Golf Tasmania member clubs and recognises the importance of the friendship, camaraderie and support that golf offers to its participants.”
Carts FORE a Cause will visit towns and communities throughout Tasmania from Dover to Tarraleah to Smithton to King and Flinders Islands to Ringarooma to Ouse and everywhere in between that has a tee to hit off and a hole to aim at.
“It's so fantastic to have our state golfing body throw their support behind us and let us know that we have their backing,” said Carts FORE a Cause’s Andrew Main.
“The tour is more than just golf. It is a tool to raise awareness and much needed funds in support of beyondblue and their ongoing fight against depression and anxiety” added Main.
