Golf Victoria launches #9after5

Golf Victoria are thrilled to unveil #9after5, a daylight savings golf campaign which encourages all Victorians to relax and unwind by playing nine holes after work.

A play on words, #9after5 portrays the stresses of the typical 9am to 5pm workday and showcases the beautiful sights and scenes that can be found at a golf course, particularly at twilight.

One of the greatest barriers associated with playing golf is time. With daylight savings upon us, and the days getting longer, playing #9after5 is an ideal way to fit golf into a busy lifestyle.

To bring the initiative to life, Golf Victoria has partnered with Caddie Films to produce a suite of videos and images which will be rolled out across digital and social media platforms over the coming months.

Golf Victoria marketing and communications manager, Greg Oakford, sees a great opportunity for more golf to be played throughout the Summer and Autumn months.

“We’re really excited to launch the #9after5 campaign to encourage more nine-hole golf to be played throughout the 2016/17 daylight savings period.

“One of the challenges that we face as a sport is that people are time-poor. With extended daylight hours over the coming months, there is great opportunity for regular, casual and beginner golfers to play a shorter form of the game following a day at work,” said Oakford.

For golf club members, playing #9after5 is a great way to derive more value from their membership. For casual golfers, playing #9after5 is a reminder of just how enjoyable the game can be and for beginners, playing #9after5 is the perfect transition to playing on-course.
