Golf Victoria launches new website and online registration system

Golf Victoria is excited to announce the launch of its new website. Golf Victoria will join Golf New South Wales, Golf South Australia, Golf Tasmania and Golf Northern Territory operating on the Golf Australia website and content management platform, which enables the contributing organisations to share content with ease.

The new website will deliver a fresh interface for users of www.golfvic.org.au with the additional benefit of mobile-friendliness across all devices.

New services will include daily Victorian Club Golf results, a dedicated video page, a “What’s On” area and a new search function to find golf facilities around the state.

Users will also experience a refreshed events system including new-look calendars and a new online registration system developed by technology company Interact Sport.

Golf Victoria CEO, Simon Brookhouse said the ability to deliver extra services to member clubs and Victorian golfers were key drivers in launching the new website on the Golf Australia platform.

“We look forward to delivering even more services to our members with the introduction of our new website, event calendars and online registration system. The ability to utilise content generated by Golf Australia and other states will enrich our news content and we’re excited to showcase our own local content on a national scale.

“There will obviously be a period of adjustment where our users will need to familiarise themselves with the new layout of the site but we believe the transition will be smooth for our users.”

Golf facilities will also benefit from the new site layout. A dedicated “Club Support” area will give venues access to a range of resources, communication pieces, directories and the Victorian Golf Foundation. The addition of a “Grants & Funding” page is also expected to be particularly useful for facilities.

“It’s always a challenge to try to accommodate for existing golfers, potential golfers and our clubs in the one website, however, we think we’ve been able to achieve this,” said Brookhouse.

Golf Australia head of media and digital, John Sutherland is thrilled for Victoria to join its digital platform.

“It’s great to have Victoria on board the Golf Australia content sharing platform. Tapping into the national pool of 5-10 stories a day will make www.golfvic.org.au a richer and more visited destination.

“Conversely, it will also make it easier for us to get national eye balls on the great grass roots stories in Victorian golf,” Sutherland stated.
