Golf Victoria partners with NSR Australia

Golf Victoria is excited to announce a partnership with NSR (National Scouting Report) Australia. The partnership will see NSR Australia provide opportunities to Victorian golfers with ambitions of playing College Golf in the USA.

NSR Australia is an officially endorsed program across many sports in Australia. Now in their eighth year of operation, NSR works directly with all US Colleges and Universities in every division in every state.

NSR Australia offers the opportunity for hundreds of Australian students to play golf full-time whilst still pursuing their academic studies. Those fortunate enough to be recognised by the recruiting agency will have the opportunity to secure a scholarship and a chance to follow a US college experience by allowing them to play in the American College Golf system.

There will be a trial event hosted at Royal Melbourne on Sunday 3 August where golfers currently in years 9, 10, 11, 12 and first year Uni/TAFE or gap year students are eligible to attend.

Simon Brookhouse, Golf Victoria Chief Executive Officer said the partnership with NSR Australia will enhance one of the pathways a junior golfer has to choose.

“We’re very pleased to be partnering with NSR Australia who are a well-known recruitment agency globally. College Golf is one of the pathways a junior golfer can pursue and we’re delighted to be able to provide this opportunity to Victorian junior golfers.

“The trial event at Royal Melbourne is open to all junior golfers from years 9-12 and first year Uni/TAFE or gap year students. I’d encourage all those that may like to consider a US College career to attend,” said Brookhouse.

NSR attend tournaments and events throughout America and Australia, while working closely with high schools and clubs to scout for talent. Through evaluating and qualifying prospects, NSR ensures that those eligible will be given the best opportunity to further enhance their athletic participation at college level.

“We are delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to young Victorian golfers through our partnership with Golf Victoria. The event at Royal Melbourne on 3 August will no doubt be a fantastic experience for everyone involved. There will be catering provided all day for the athletes and their parents and the attendance of our newest Director and avid golfer, Ricky Ponting will no doubt prove to be a huge hit too,” said Marco Maisano, NSR Managing Director.

“The event is for all ability levels as we work with over 1,500 Colleges and Universities in the USA so we encourage any young male or female athlete with any thoughts on studying and playing golf in the US to come and enjoy a great day out.”
