The Golfers Club NSW/ACT (GCNSW/ACT) was a virtual golf club recognized by Golf Australia through the Australian Golf Network (AGN). Its aim was to provide an opportunity for NSW and ACT social golfers to participate more fully in golf competitions with a view to establishing a pathway to joining a Golf Club. Those who were likely to join were:
Beginner golfers of all ages, backgrounds and gender;
Social golfers / social groups;
Golfers who may not have played for a while wishing to get back into the game;
Regular golfers wanting more confidence in a casual and social setting before participating in regular competitions;
Golfers on a waiting list to join a club;
Other: e.g. golfers who do not want to participate in golf competitions, however would like to be involved as observers, supporters, or stay in the loop.
As of 1st July 2012, the Golfers Club NSW/ACT has been discontinued. This program was seen as an active pathway for development of golf that was not necessarily being provided by golf clubs. We are pleased to advise that a number of clubs are now providing affordable categories of membership for beginner and social golfers negating the need for Golf NSW to manage a virtual golf club.
