Golfers living with dementia enjoy a regular 9 holes

Dementia Australia has launched a new activity that connects a person with an early diagnosis of dementia with a golf companion.

Participants have the opportunity to enjoy a regular nine holes of golf with some additional individualised support.

This monthly activity brings groups of four people together to play golf at Malvern Valley Golf Club and finish their session with a coffee.

“A diagnosis of dementia can be devastating", Therese Magdulski, Golf Australia’s State Manager, Victoria said.

“Enabling people living with dementia to enjoy a game they love, helps them to be physically active, socially connected and remain involved in the golf community,” she said.
