Two of Australian golf’s emerging stars have been rated among the Web.com Tour’s “top 12 rookies to watch” by the US PGA Tour.
Just a week after Mathew Goggin won the season-opening event in Panama, both Rhein Gibson and Golf Australia rookie squad member Oliver Goss are touted as likely high-flyers in season 2015.
And neither has let the form judges down early.
Gibson, 29, is ranked 19th after two events, having finished sixth in Panama and made the cut in the Colombia Championship won by American Patrick Rodgers.
Goss, 20, sits just outside the all-important top 25 racing for PGA Tour cards next year, ranked 31st after a season-opening 12th in Panama before missing the cut in Colombia.
Other Aussies sitting handily early in the season are Goggin (second behind Rodgers), veteran Rod Pampling (16) and Melbourne’s Ashley Hall (T36).
