<image="1" align="left" />Western Australian Oliver Goss has banked his first cheque as a professional at the Quicken Loans National tournament at Congressional Country Club in Maryland.
Goss headed into the weekend in a tie for the lead with fellow Aussie Marc Leishman but struggled over the weekend, recording rounds of 76 and 79 to finish in a tie for 55th place, earning just over US$14,000 prize money.
Friend and fellow Western Australian Brady Watt finished in a tie for 24th, his best career PGA Tour finish to date earning more than $52,000.
“I didn’t really have too many expectations,” Goss said of the National. “Obviously I wanted to make the cut. Missing the cut last week I was a little bit disappointed but coming into this week pretty appreciative and open-minded and just see what happened.”
Goss will tee it up next at the Greenbrier Classic this week in West Virginia.
