It wasn't the finish she'd hoped, but Hannah Green's star continued to rise at the Symetra Tour's Fuccillo Classic in Albany, New York, today.
The West Australian watched five players slide past her, including eventual winner Nanna Madsen, the Dane who was runner-up at the ISPS Handa Women's Australian Open in February.
Green , who began with the lead at seven under in the 54-hole tournament, birdied the second hole of her final round to move clear.
But a bogey on the third stalled the Golf Australia rookie squad member's momentum and two late bogeys dropped her to a share of sixth at five under, three behind Madsen.
"Just didn't have anything going with the putter on back nine to contend," Green later tweeted.
But while a second win of the young Symetra Tour season eluded the Mount Lawley product after her victory at the Sara Bay Classic in late April, the result kept her prominent at seventh in the all-important season-long "Race for the Card". Green must secure a top-10 finish to earn a 2018 LPGA Tour card.
Adelaide's Stephanie Na closed with a pair of 70s to finish T21 at even par, while Emily McLennan (T30), Jayde Panos (T37) and Rebecca Artis (T52) all made the cut.
Meanwhile, on the LPGA Tour, legendary Queenslander Karrie Webb recorded her best finish of the season with a T17 at the Shoprite Classic in Galloway, New Jersey.
Webb's rounds of 70-68-71 left her at four under, seven shots behind winner In-Kyung Kim.
Melbourne's Su Oh couldn't find her rhythm in a closing 73, but still managed to finish even par and T46.
Katherine Kirk and Sarah Kemp missed the cut.
