Australia s Number 2 ranked girl Hannah Green is on the verge of the biggest win in her junior career holding a three stroke lead going in to the final round of the Bowra & O Dea Women’s Classic at the Lake Karrinyup Country Club in Perth. Green, who recently finished runner up to World Number 2 amateur Minjee Lee at the Australian Girl s Amateur Championship, increased her lead over Mandurah s Hayley Bettencourt with a 2-under par round of 72, leaving her 8-under par for the tournament. In an impressive display of shot-making, Green’s round was highlighted by seven birdies. The title appeared all but won as Green increased her lead to five strokes after 17 holes. However, in a boost for the chasing pack, the leader double-bogeyed the last hole of the day to leave the door slightly ajar for Bettencourt, who only managed an even par round of 74 in benign conditions. Current Australian Number 6 Cathleen Santoso (NSW) also shot a 2-under par round of 72 to remain five strokes off the lead while fellow New South Wales player, Lauren Hibbert lies in fourth place, eight strokes off the lead. Today&aposs final round commences at 12.30 pm (AEST) with the leaders teeing off from 2.00pm (AEST).
