Green tied for third place

Australian Nathan Green has fired a four-under-par 66 to finish his round two strokes behind leader Tim Clark midway through the second round of the Crowne Plaza International. On a day when many players failed to finish their second round due to inclement weather, Green fired four birdies without any blemishes on his card to finish at nine-under-par. Clark carded a six-under-par 64 and sits at 11-under-par, one clear of his nearest challenger, American Arron Oberholser who carded a 66 to improve to 10-under-par for the tournament. Clark started on the back nine at Colonial Country Club and holed six birdies and no bogeys. He was especially strong after the turn, recording birdies on the first, third, fourth and seventh. Tied with Green at nine-under-par are World No.3 Jim Furyk and American Ben Curtis, while overnight leader Anthony Kim is tied for sixth place at eight-under-par with Kevin Na and Alex Cejka. Peter Lonard is still well in contention, currently tied for equal 13th place at six-under-par with three holes still to play in his round. Two shots further back, and tied for 27th place, are a group of five Australians consisting of Mark Hensby, Steve Elkington, Rod Pampling, Stephen Leaney and Nick O&aposHern. With three holes remaining in their round each, compatriots Mathew Goggin and John Senden, are currently sitting at one-under-par and even-par respectively and with plenty of work left to be done if they are to make the halfway cut. Andrew Buckle shot a 73 to finish his second round at five-over-par, and won&apost be part of the action on the weekend.
