Green’s hot streak in Morocco

Veteran Richard Green has continued his recent resurgence, taking a share of the lead in the Trophy Hassan II in Morocco.

Green has carded 68-70 to be six-under, level with Rafa Cabrera-Bello of Spain, Richie Ramsay of Scotland and Oliver Farr of Wales through two rounds of the European Tour event.

The 44-year-old won the Oates Victorian Open at his new home track at 13th Beach last month, and was 15th in Thailand recently.

"I had a bit of break since Thailand and have not played a lot of golf,'' he said. "I got myself ready for this week and to find myself six under after two rounds is great.  I was pretty happy with the form in Thailand and the tournaments leading up to that. I’ve still got the same swing thoughts and mental thoughts, so it has carried on this week.''

Another Australian, Aaron Baddeley, is just a shot from the lead held by American Ryder Cup player Jimmy Walker in the Valero Texas Open in San Antonio. Baddeley followed his first-round 68 with a 71 to be five-under, but a string of Australians, including defending champion Steven Bowditch and Geoff Ogilvy, missed the cut.

New South Welshman Rhein Gibson continues to lead the web.com Tour's Louisiana Open through two rounds, complementing his brilliant first-round 62 with a 68 today.

Gibson is three shots ahead and threatening a groundbreaking win. Starting the week 52nd on the money list for the secondary two, he would rise to a top-five position should he win the tournament, in position to secure a card to play on the PGA Tour next season.
