Griffin finishes 12th at Coolum

AIS Rookie Professional Matt Griffin finished tied with Adam Scott in 12th place at the Australian PGA Championship presented by Coca Cola at the Hyatt Regency Coolum. Griffin fired rounds of 67-68-73-71 to finish at 5-under par and tied with Australian Open champion Adam Scott and Chinese Taipei&aposs Shih-Ching Chan. Griffin held the 36 hole lead at Coolum and finished with weekend rounds of 73 and 71. Griffin, who played for Australia at the 2008 World Amateur Team Championships before turning professional, finished 63rd on the Asian Tour of Merit to secure his Tour card for 2010. Griffin&aposs fellow AIS rookie Bronson La&aposCassie finished in a tie for 51st after a third round 80 pushed him out of contention. He had earlier shot rounds of 68 and 69.
