Have you or someone you know undergone a heart procedure? Do you or someone you know love golf? Then sign up for the 2017 GV Heart Open!
The GV Heart Open is an 18-hole stableford competition open to male and female players (both amateur & professional) that have undergone a heart procedure.
This year our one of a kind annual event is moving to Yarra Yarra Golf Club on Monday 20 March and includes a round of golf in the afternoon followed by a presentation dinner.
The GV Heart Open was the brainchild of former Herald-Sun golf writer Don Lawrence and Commonwealth member Con Davie back in 1989.
For over 25 years the event has provided a true golfing celebration for men & women who have had major heart surgery or treatment.
In 2015, with the generous help from First National Real Estate, the event was able to raise $10,000 for the Monash Heart Hospital, with an additional $1,000 raised through a dinner raffle for the Heart Foundation.
The event and its participants have continued to raise funds for both the Monash Heart Hospital and the Heart Foundation through donations towards the Nearest The Pin prizes and raffle items.
Funds raised have been put towards much needed heart health education and research at both organisations.
The special spirit and friendly atmosphere that surrounds the GV Heart Open is hard to describe and really has to be experienced.
