The Queensland Women’s Sand Green Championships were celebrated in style at Hughenden Golf Club over the weekend with 75 players coming together to celebrate the 30-year anniversary.
Sheree Hasson (Mackay) claimed the championship with an incredible 13-shot victory after rounds of 71-65, including a blemish free second day. Ashleigh McCourt finished runner-up in division 1 with rounds of 74-75, and a 36-hole total of 149.
In division 2, Cunnamulla member Patricia Hartley captured the title recording rounds of 83-84, for a three-shot victory over Tambo’s Rebecca Johnstone.
Karen Little (Hughenden) was victorious in Division 3 using her local knowledge to win by six shots, returning rounds of 89-85. Fellow Hughenden member Judy Parker was runner up with scores of 87-93.
Players enjoyed two spectacular days at Hughenden Golf Club with the excellent course conditions and service to be commended. Thank you to the Ladies Committee at Hughenden for their support of the event.
