McCracken&aposs Joshua Hayes and Wirrabara&aposs Acacia Curtis have been crowned the respective 2011 Golf SA Country Junior Boy&aposs and Girl&aposs champions after following an exciting weekend of golf at Port Augusta Golf Club. In the boy&aposs division, Joshua Hayes took the title with a par on the first playoff hole after he had finished the three round event tied with Wirrabara&aposs Joel Durnford. Hayes carded rounds of 72, 78, 80 (230) with Durnford carding rounds of 77, 75, 78 (230) in what proved to be difficult windy conditions throughout the weekend. Peter Johns (Swan Reach) finished in third position in the boy&aposs division after rounds of 75, 79, 80 (234). In the girl&aposs division, Wirrabara&aposs Acacia Curtis was the standout performer, recording rounds of 85, 89, 81 for a three-round total of 256. In second position was Caillin Lakin (South Lakes) with rounds of 89,99,84 (272) with Niki Spurling (Kadina) finishing third with rounds of 95, 92, 103 (290). The Boy&aposs teams title went to the Southern division team of Joshua Hayes, Steve Williams, Sam Wells and Elliott Willgoose. Hayes, Durnford and Johns, alone with Jack Thompson (Port Lincoln), Ben Tucker (Robe), Nick Kroehn (Mannum) and Ben Snell (Mt Gambier) were chosen in the SA Country Boys side to play Victoria in November.
