National Squad member Jake Higginbottom made short work of Riversdale Golf Club to win the Riversdale Cup by seven strokes on the weekend.
Higginbottom never looked back after an opening round 8-under par 64 and posted rounds of 68,68 and 69 to finish at 19-under par.
Queensland’s Daniel McGraw closed with a 64 to equal Higginbottom’s round of the tournament but it was not enough to stop the Higginbottom’s barnstorming run.
Fellow National Squad member Cameron Smith finished at 10-under par following a final round 68 while Rory Bourke (VIC), Daniel Nisbet (QLD) and Chris Brown (SA) all finished in a tie for fourth at 7-under par.
The win was Higginbottom’s third National Ranking event, after winning the 2011 Keperra Bowl and adding to his Queensland and New South Wales Amateur titles.
