Victorian Institute of Sport (VIS)
In cooperation with Golf Victoria and the PGA of Australia (Southern Division), the VIS golf program provides the State’s leading young amateur and professional golfers with services and support to help them achieve their potential.
The program develops sport specific competency and life skills via coaching, sport science and vocational support, providing athletes with the opportunity to develop their games to an international standard.
A screening process assessing levels of sport-specific competency is used to design an individualised training program that meets the individual needs of the athlete. As athletes mature, they are encouraged to become more involved in both the assessment of their games and the design of their training programs in preparation for careers as elite athletes on an International Tour.
Throughout their scholarship, athletes are encouraged to pursue work or study commitments to complement their training schedules.
