In 2003 Stuart Appleby Junior Golf (SAJG) was founded as the only not-for-profit organisation specifically designed to promote the interests of young golfers. It was one of the most exciting ventures that Victorian junior golf had ever seen. In 2011 SAJG merged with Golf Victoria to fall under the same umbrella and provide the very best opportunities for junior golfers in Victoria.
Golf Victoria provides a pathway of golf events and tournaments that offers opportunities for young players starting out to nationally ranked junior players. Stuart Appleby events form a strong part of that pathway with many of the state's finest young players have started out in the Rookie Program, playing the "Victorian Junior Classics" and "Rookie Series" and worked their way through the pathway to achieve their golfing goals.
