Australia&aposs past two amateur champions squared off in the morning foursomes matches again Armando Zarlenga and Juli n Etulain but went down 6/4. Emiliano Grillo and Esteban Mart nez then defeated Matt Griffin and Justin Roach 3/1 before the South American dominance continued in the afternoon singles. Australian amateur runner-up Justin Roach was the sole victor as he posted a 2up victory over Etulain. Griffin went down 2/1 to Grillo, Stewart lost to Martinez by the same margin and Blizard was defeated by Zarlenga 5/3. In the other contest, New Zealand defeated South Africa.
